HEBRON, NY FARMHOUSE

This complex campus of structures began as a modest 1850s farmhouse, renovated by WGA in a manner true to its rural New England roots. The cluster has since grown to encompass a multitude of structures, each of which has its own function, keeping with agrarian custom. A full suite of buildings now serve the client’s desires, including a garden shed, a boathouse, a studio, and a gym.

While each building houses a single function, the conglomeration yields a harmonious sense of place within the country vernacular. The design is thoroughly integrated with the landscape, at play with the rolling hills and scattered lakes. Although a fully-restored graveyard haunts the landscape, this ever-evolving architectural colony mirrors its spirit on the surrounding, thriving forest.
